In-Text Citations

Good morning everyone.

1. As requested, here are some websites that show how to make in-text citations.

Please go to the following websites and read the in-text citation rules; take notes if necessary.
Please write down the name of the website for future use. I will give you an example of an essay that uses in-text citations in the afternoon.

3. Read the two articles on Abortion (links are below). Take notes if necessary.

            a)  In each article, identify the writer’s attitude and point of view.
            b) Write an opinion paragraph about this topic in your notebook. Do you                                                    think abortions should be legal or illegal? Why or why not? Make                                                          references to the articles. BRAINSTORM AND PLAN BEFORE YOU WRITE YOUR                      DRAFT.

Remember to have a topic sentence with a controlling idea, 3 points that support the idea and a sufficient amount of details/examples for each point.
Your paragraph should be indented, and contain at least 8 sentences, maximum of 12.                     Hand in your paragraph to me after you finish.

Good morning everyone.

Today we have plenty of things on our list to keep us occupied.

1. You should have finished your autobiographies for homework. This morning you will exchange your autobiographies with another classmate for editing purposes. Check verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, punctuation, word choice, etc. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your autobiography, please edit it yourself.

After your autobiography is edited, type it up on the computer.
Save it and send it to me: milijana.railic@mohawkcollege.ca

2. Come find your poem at the front of the class and type it up. Save it and send it to me as well.

3. If you've finished everything above, you will practice the Passive Voice.
Click on Tense Busters on your desktop. Click on Advanced and click on Passive Voice.

Enjoy!
